Terms of Service
Community Participation Agreement
Last updated: March 2026
1. Agreement
By joining or participating in any SquishVerse Foundation community space (including but not limited to Discord servers, Minecraft servers, Roblox servers, website, or any other platform operated by SquishVerse Foundation), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Community Rules. If you are under 18, your parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these terms on your behalf.
2. Who We Are
SquishVerse Foundation is a nonprofit corporation registered in the state of North Carolina, operating gaming communities and educational programs for people of all ages. We are not a childcare provider, school, or licensed care facility. We are a community organization that provides moderated online spaces and educational resources.
3. Community Conduct
All participants agree to abide by our Community Rules. Violations may result in warnings, temporary restrictions, or permanent removal at the discretion of our moderation team. Decisions made by moderators are final, subject to the appeals process described in our Community Rules.
You agree not to use any SquishVerse community space to harass, threaten, stalk, or harm any other person. You agree not to share illegal content, engage in illegal activity, or attempt to circumvent our safety systems.
4. Safety and Moderation
SquishVerse Foundation takes community safety seriously. We employ automated content filtering, active human moderation, reporting systems, and other safety measures. However, we cannot monitor every interaction in real time, and we cannot guarantee that every participant will follow our rules at all times.
By participating, you acknowledge that:
- Online communities carry inherent risks, including exposure to unwanted contact, inappropriate language, or harmful behavior from other participants.
- While we implement extensive safety measures, no moderation system can prevent 100% of harmful interactions.
- You are responsible for reporting any concerns to our moderation team using the provided reporting tools.
- SquishVerse Foundation is not responsible for the actions, statements, or conduct of individual community members.
5. Parents and Guardians
If your child participates in any SquishVerse Foundation community, you acknowledge and agree that:
- You have reviewed these Terms of Service and our Community Rules.
- You consent to your child's participation in our moderated community spaces.
- You understand that while we employ active moderation, automated safety tools, and reporting systems, we cannot guarantee your child will not encounter inappropriate behavior from other users.
- You are responsible for monitoring your child's online activity and maintaining open communication with them about their experiences.
- You will notify our moderation team immediately if your child reports any concerning interactions.
- Participants under 13 years of age are not permitted without verified parental consent in compliance with COPPA.
6. Assumption of Risk
Participation in SquishVerse Foundation communities is voluntary. You acknowledge that online communities, like all social environments, carry certain risks. SquishVerse Foundation provides safety infrastructure including automated moderation, human moderation, reporting tools, and community guidelines, but cannot eliminate all risk. By participating, you voluntarily assume these risks and agree that SquishVerse Foundation, its directors, officers, volunteers, and agents are not liable for the conduct of other community members, provided the organization has acted in good faith to maintain a safe environment.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SquishVerse Foundation, its board of directors, officers, employees, volunteers, and agents shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from participation in our communities, programs, or services. This includes but is not limited to damages arising from interactions with other community members, exposure to user-generated content, or disruptions in service.
8. Privacy
SquishVerse Foundation respects your privacy.
- This website does not collect, store, or share any personal information. No cookies, no tracking, no analytics.
- Our community platforms (Discord, game servers, etc.) are operated by third-party providers with their own privacy policies. By using those platforms, you are also subject to their terms.
- Moderation data (reports, moderation actions, audit logs) is collected and retained for safety and compliance purposes. This data is accessible only to authorized moderators and administrators.
- We do not sell, share, or distribute any personal information to third parties.
9. Moderation and Enforcement
SquishVerse Foundation reserves the right to remove any participant from our communities at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. We reserve the right to modify, restrict, or terminate access to any community space. Moderation decisions are made in the interest of community safety and are not subject to external review. Internal appeals are available as described in our Community Rules.
10. Intellectual Property
Content you create and share in our communities remains yours. However, by posting content in our community spaces, you grant SquishVerse Foundation a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display that content within our community platforms. We will not use your content for commercial purposes outside of our community spaces without your permission.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Significant changes will be announced in our community spaces. Continued participation after changes are announced constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the state of North Carolina. Any disputes arising from these terms or your participation in SquishVerse Foundation communities shall be resolved in the courts of North Carolina.
13. Contact
Questions about these terms can be directed to squishrips@gmail.com.
Summary in plain language: We do everything we can to keep our communities safe — automated moderation, active human moderation, reporting tools, background checks for moderators, and clear rules. But we are a community of real people, and we cannot control every individual's behavior at every moment. By joining, you understand this and agree to help us maintain a safe environment by following the rules and reporting concerns. If you are a parent, please be involved in your child's online activity and talk to them about what they experience.
